Traveling is a pleasure for the senses, but travel on the trail of a book or author that wrote it far exceeds the pleasure. I have several times by the five continents, sometimes in search of those unwritten stories, if those other written and recorded in my memory. I traveled to Karlovy Vary under the influence of Milan Kundera. Years ago, I had the honor to personally meet Stephen Vicinzcey London and sitting on his desk before a large portrait of the great Stendhal, Vicinzcey where he wrote "In Praise of Older Women". This time my passion was again a writer of Eastern Europe, Sandor Marai, nacido in Kassa in 1900 and raised in Budapest, Hungary.

This man faced princess frog and soul I fell in love in the first literary assault. Which is for me his masterpiece, "Women just", reveals the sensitivity of a writer who understood the essence of human beings and their limitations. His other great work, "Confessions of a bourgeois", is that, a long and beautiful confession of a bourgeois who never wanted to be. This beautiful soul, literary and brave ended his days by shooting the 89 years. Since death was not, was he to meet.

I left my bags in the house of a humble old lady rented a room in your home clean by the river

So with much enthusiasm and little information about the city I took a flight to Budapest and I stood in front of the Danube.

I left my bags in the house of a humble old lady rented a room in your home clean by the river. The central square where the building was called Ter Force. Was one of those old buildings and impressive portal castle gate dimensions, that opened with a heavy, thick metal key. An archaic bronze elevator bars floated to the fourth floor squeaking, where I entered the apartment, I think for the service door. Actually I suspect that all the old apartment where he lived was once the home of service. This made me think again about Sandor Marai and his stories. Could she have been the very Judit, women just.

It is romantic, Baroque, classical, Renaissance and modern at the same time. The river passes under the umbrella of elegant bridges proud

I can think of many words to describe Budapest, but the best is elegance defined. With Buddha to one side of the river and Pest other, this city is very reminiscent of a fairy tale. It is romantic, Baroque, classical, Renaissance and modern at the same time. The river passes under the umbrella of elegant bridges look magnificent and distinguished brunt of some buildings, beautiful beaches and other city I was not going to bear fruit in the elegant soul-people!

Of the many churches out notes Mendelssohn, Bach; in the streets of downtown, pedestrian, bands liven up the terraces, cafes ... where women feel beautiful and the men look with shame.

I went into the tourist office to ask how he could get to the neighborhood, unpronounceable name, where he had lived Marai, but nobody knew who he was.

I climbed up the great palace of the Buddha and went down to a forgotten and quiet neighborhood, where there was a soul, to finally find the bust of Marai

Walking I could find a small gallery on it, where I could buy books and his biography in English. I climbed up the great palace of Buddha, and descended back to a forgotten and quiet neighborhood where there was a soul, to finally find the bust of Marai. Remained hidden from the bustle of tourists visiting the palace just a few meters above. Here, fortunately, was out of the tourist guide. I sat on a bench beside her to watch. It was summer and the heat was tremendous. The temperature in Budapest in the summer can reach 40 degrees. I felt nostalgia and some sadness to see him there so forgotten, in the center of a small intersection, as usual with me busts immortalized or the graves of famous people. See Marai had been a great privilege for me, at last he and I were there alone, in Budapest.

Just a week ago I went to Budapest seeking the same thing you, without having read your encounter. I looked, asked, and gave no indication of where I could find a trace of that, for my, wonderful writer. But I soaked the air, of the images that I had described Marai your Budapest. An exceptional city.
