It has been 13 years and yet I still recognized in the jungles. I still feel like my spirit is lightened carrying a tripod and when I still enjoy the adventure ruffles. By then I was in the National Park Chitawan, and Nepal. We arrived there on board a Ford Mondeo that left the Mirador del Pino Autilla, in Palencia, my house. That journey took us to Singapore later the rhythm imposed by excessive enthusiasm and daring of inexperience. Shortly after the series edited "Palencia-Singapore, the journey of the three oceans ", and yes, I also believe there are better names, but that title fit 20.000 km unforgettable, a route full of laughter and a passport to the best job in the world: travel journalism.

Just days ago, The 2 TVE issued the final chapter of a documentary series that I directed: A World Apart. Tells a world tour of two years approaching road tribals. I feel happy, I confess. Our history has been issued worldwide, from National Geographic to the Univision TVE. Millions of people have traveled with us from a couch, have known about our adventures around the world and have approached us to portray Indians. We journalists, storytellers. That is what. But, vocation audience does not understand and that is the price we must pay, that of our own enthusiasm.

It is impossible to change the course of the bold

I just returned from Barcelona, an Travel Congress, Communication and Adventure organized by the Autonomous University of Barcelona and I've been invited to speak. As she talked about around the world have seen the look lit students, nervous concern, their stubbornness even. It is impossible to change the course of the bold. Some have already drawn lines on a map, roads will have been invented, and atisbarán flashes of an airport into the unknown. You are lost because they have faith. Few trades overtime mixed with dreams fulfilled, emotion with talent. So is forging a job that is life and lived to tell the tale. And there, around, the shadows, is always waiting for the petty, to take advantage of the euphoria of the intrepid, their sacred effort. I could only warn: "Do not fail that market with your illusions, because this world is counting, primarily, a trade. "

It was then that evaded me for a moment until the memory of that first assault on the freedom of a route without agencies, Impostor-Palencia in Singapore. He 25 years ahead across Asia. There were two reporters and a cameraman ready to tell that journey. Nothing different from us students of Congress in Barcelona, had the same desire from, with the same look in fire. We found sponsorship in an era in which no communication managers trembled in fear and so, brand new suit journalist, with a smile that would take us to Singapore, started our first big trip of our lives.

Just Released journalist suit, with a smile that would take us to Singapore, started our first big trip of our lives.

We live the tension of war, were escorted in the deserts of Pakistan and reached the Himalayan foothills. And for some reason, my mind went there, National Park Chitawan, very close to the border with India.

We had met Alicia, Alicante girl passing by, and as we liked we took across the country, because these things work well, without further analysis. She walked to the park where more than a hundred tigers. We went by chance by a door guarding the guards only, but as I hit it, for that, let us pass. And there we go, confident that nothing could happen to us, because it was recognized in the jungles, because our spirits are lightened with a tripod and enjoyed the adventure we ruffled. There were about unconscious. We saw an elephant in the bushes and we had no doubt in closer, pues was impossible in so great a surrender Novedad. My first elephant in the wild! I recorded it all, I enjoyed all. We walked without a guide in the ways of the tigers and then watched the monkeys entangled in rainforest trees.

I remember the poor Orson, our camera, looked at me apologetically to say he had run out of battery and I felt the same grief I feel now when we're late for a sunset. With the camera off I looked at one of the most beautiful pictures I've seen in my life. A rhino bathing in a pond, next to a tree full of herons, in the middle of the jungle and bottom Chitawan, Snowstorm bluntness Himalayas. And those are the moments that remain for the traveler who rests to be a journalist.

Those are the moments that remain for the traveler who rests to be a journalist

It was late and we did not have time to leave the park so we slept in huts. I settled for listening to the roar of a tiger at dawn. At dawn, with batteries recharged and encouragement, we went to see the fog and sun burning the jungle. We traveled with the joy of a child in a toy, a permanent wakefulness, because we understood that this was our business, it was well worth, that there was no case in the world to change our steps.

The documentary series Palencia-Singapore, the journey of the three oceans had an impact worthy autonomic, but none of us bothered to assess the hearings. I think wistfully of those days, Alberto and Orson, in that ramshackle car crossing road, in mis elefantes, in the mosques of Iran… on the trip that I realized that there was no going back.

Today I opened a world map and have drawn a red line. I can not avoid, I have faith, I make up new roads, glimpse airports, I know I'm lost… and I have no 25 years.

The maps, Always on maps… The lines are long, move, reinvent, but they are always lines to somewhere that is always the same site: the illusion of seeing something new. You are an example of the value of a stroke on a napkin, has not done a lot more.

I enjoyed a lot with your travelers Documentaries, perhaps too summary. Is that age does not restrict the urge to move, I spent the 60 and even sleep on the desert sand. Coincidence, Rhino bathing in a pond, I film in which Orson, in the jungle of Chitawan, lo you (or first) in 2008 and neither filmed, for the same reason. Thank you for sharing with rigor and freshness.
