Until recently Mozambique was one of the poorest countries in the world. No wonder. What I have seen so far and what I have been told shows me a face of Africa a little different from the one I knew. The Portuguese had to leave in 24 hours, which did not allow a minimally planned decolonization, shortly after there was a fifteen year civil war. The result is that the few Portuguese infrastructures have been lost.

Then the city, during the few minutes that the light is denouncing everything for the first time, boiling between the roar of thousands of people who do not know where to go.

Maputo: little account of the flood

Then leave the streets and houses are flooded. You see people getting into cubes sky home, floating furniture, tin roofs that break. The city is paralyzed, especially in cardboard Maputo, where the nearby sea seems less violent than those neighborhoods lost quagmire. Everything about this affliction in which African coups become customary.
