Nights in a room without water under the spell of a unique hotel. In the Lower Zambezi as never enjoyed the lush African Nature.

At seven o'clock I was expecting a four-seater airplane of the company to take me to Proflight Zambia Royal Zambezi Lodge. The hotel had recommended me a friend, Daniel Landa, traveled tad, that after going around the world for two years told me nothing: "The best hotel I've ever been in my life." Of course, There are many special places in the world, each has faced with his, but his words subscribe: "It's probably the best hotel I've ever been".

The pilot reassured me just get on the plane and explain that the right propeller was not working too well. Tear it took only three minutes. Then, the guy asked:"Are you ready?”. "I hope you are ready to be you", challenged. We flew over the outskirts of Lusaka and, suddenly, showed a huge mass of water at my feet. At the bottom, a narrow sand airstrip where a car was waiting for me. The flight was perfect, this time without hearing playing tricks on me.

On one occasion, out to take photos of the jacuzzi, I had to change the route for the small inconvenience that had an elephant on the road, onsite

The Royal Zambezi is a hotel made of wood, integrated into the wealth. My room, I had reserved a suite of, had a private pool and a bed two meters away from where I took the best naps of my life. No need to move from place to see animals. Next to the shower, which is also outside, hippo dung had. The animals are there, in front, can almost touch. On one occasion, out to take photos of the jacuzzi, I had to change the route for the small inconvenience that had an elephant on the road, onsite. Let, the typical story of an elephant that does not let you go when you want to go to your room. Actually there are occasions in Africa where you have to stop a second and remember that it is very normal what your eyes see.

The entire complex is an explosion of nature, where you entertain yourself watching a kingfisher fishing or camouflaged in the brush a monitor. Then, out, will visit the Lower Zambezi Park. I have made a few safaris in these lands and this has been the most liked. Maybe because I did not see a single car lined up with the animal of the day. In other parks come to pass traffic, even with their small blockages, by thousands of tourists who crowd in front of the beasts.

A dead hippo floating in the river, swollen like a balloon, and a lion was on him juggling exercises to try to eat

In the Lower Zambezi the landscape is bathed in green following the course of a river painting nature at will. I saw more lions than in any previous parks, for ten minutes, I saw a unique scene that showed me the photos. A dead hippo floating in the river, swollen like a balloon, and a lion was on him juggling exercises to try to eat. After falling into the water twice a crocodile appeared who tried to attack the cat, who had to flee to not be in your area (Photos Natalie taught me, the manager of the Lodge, encountered with a unique scene). So with safaris, can be a surprise to all or literally do not see a bug. That's the real magic of wildlife.

But also, the place has the brutal charm of the channel. I did a canoe trip of more than three hours for a channel that seemed unreal Zambezi. Underneath the alligators scurried, on the slopes you watched the lions, in heaven revoleteaban Ospreys. Around, fast boat, I left a red-tinged sunset to shoot back that I did not want to enjoy, for once, with eyes and not through a lens.

Three nights were great, that ended with a drink on my balcony to water, where I had nice conversations. There I waited Bryan, a nice guy, I studied books about animals to become guide (claims more). Addition, most of the outputs of a marriage did, more, London, given off by tender: He embraced into the sunset, took care to bring it in the shade or applauded when he fished a small catfish in the river. I later learned she had cancer. Everything in the Zambezi Lodge was just perfect, tranquil, peaceful… All quiet and calm can be a place where elephants say hello in the halls.
