-Jose Alejandro Adamuz: What would travel be without the literature? Is it possible without Homer Ulysses?
-Is that the journey is pure literature. Because, in principle, is an imaginary territory when you plan- that becomes a real territory. Do not live in your soul is high literature? Without Homer Ulysses would not, course. But then Odysseus has set its creator for centuries. That really is a literary triumph.

-Nuria Martí: Xavier, gave the first book that is now my husband was "Wanderer in Africa". He refused to travel to Africa, I guess that's the bad press that has, but just read it was an overwhelming desire to go for it and, hitherto, we have continued to meet. How did you feel the first time I stepped on Africa and which country would you choose?
-I felt a deep turmoil of the senses and, also, the thrill of meeting an old dream that I encouraged from childhood. Tanzania is my favorite. Worst, Guinea Ecuatorial.

-Alfonso Aspiroz: What indigenous African cultures highlight for having remained almost intact, without external influences, anchored to the past?
-Nothing is uncontaminated and anywhere in the world, except in some corners of the Amazon rainforest. Anyway there are great pollution, the fact that the Masai could have fridge and African women, washing machines.

-Martin Peleteiro: I think I read that you want to visit South America Bolivia, Why Bolivia and other South American country?
-Because I do not know Bolivia. The Latin American countries, almost all.

-Mario Garcia: You said in your last book that you had many other places to know, Why a new trip to Africa?
-Africa pulls over and over again in my. I have contracted "the evil of Africa", a beautiful disease.

There are great pollution, the fact that the Masai could have fridge and African women, washing machines

-Diego Orive: Do Lalibela, and Ethiopia in general, a place to hide things worth visiting?
-Ethiopia is a surprising and very different from all of Africa. Lalibela not know: I passed, but not stopped. I have qualms with stones after so many years traveling.

-Oscar García Muñoz: Why has it taken years to write or publish an account of travels in Africa he describes in his new book, when travel has already been published after («The river of Light and «In wild seas»)?
-I did these after. I put dates: journey of "The River of Light", Summer 2006; trip to northern Kenya, February 2008; voyage «In wild seas», Summer 2008; trip to western Tanzania, February 2009.

-Francesc Feliu: Xavier, when preparing a Travel Can you first decide the destination and then informs you of its history or based on what you read you plan a trip?
-I think where I want to go for a long literary impulse, I document, I make a rue (always change in the way) y me voy. I go back and write.

We have the worst generation of political democracy. No statesmen. The politicians of today do not think about future generations, but in the next election

-Carlos Lazaro: For a lover like you in Greece, its history, people and culture…, and taking into account your European spirit of integration and anti-nationalist, What do you think politicians should do today to save Greece, Portugal and Italy from the terrible crisis that plagues us?
-They should have a view greatness, think about the story and not in their narrow interests. We have the worst generation of politicians, in Europe and Spain- in the history of democracy. No statesmen. The politicians of today do not think about future generations, but in the next election. And they are stupid, because all are losing because of his blindness.

-Elena: At the end of a great journey always plan the next. What is the next, Reverte?
-I'm going to Ireland next month and in August the Yangtze, in China. It Dios, the devil or the euro did not prevent.

-Carlos: I have read many of his travel books, but never any on Africa, What would you recommend to start? Are they some kind of order?
-Well first of all, "African Dream". And there is in them no kind of order, are independent.

Not find a more beautiful name than in Africa. Have you ever noticed that your map is shaped like a human heart?

-Mario: Excellent work, M. Reverte. You who have been in those sites often seem removed from the imagination of a lot of children: If you could give Africa a new name to what would be and why?
-Not find a more beautiful name than in Africa. Have you ever noticed that your map is shaped like a human heart? He said Graham Greene.

-Isidro and Eduardo: For all traveled and written about Africa, Transmits this continent would you not feeling found elsewhere? Why should that magnetism?
-Africa is very sensory, she travels aboard one of the senses.

-Aitor Uranga: Hi Javier, always a pleasure to hear from you, especially when you've finished writing a book, and especially if it is on Africa, by the passion we trasladas. I have in mind what was said on the Congo River. You were about to leave your life in it. Those who have traveled in Africa, but unless you, We know that it is a continent where experiences are more "raw", Is this what you hooked?
-Not, I don't get hooked on "raw" experiences. I'm not that type of adventurer who travels with boas and guerrilla fighting. I engage people, nature and sensuality of the continent.

-Gemma Rovira: For me the simplest question in the world: Why the title "Hills Burning Lakes of Fire"? I guess it by the photo that has taken the atardeder you see the sky as it burns and is reflected in the lake Or is there some backdrop?
-It is not the picture; is reversed: I searched for an appropriate photo to the title. The areas that I traveled in northern Kenya, at noon seemed to burn. And the Lake Tanganyika was a fire in the evenings. Two royal titles that seem metaphors.

-Robert Martin: What do you think is the main cause of the disaster that has gripped the African continent: colonialism or the culture and way of seeing the lives of Africans?
-Colonialism, certainly. destroyed the social fabric artificial African maps are prevailing. And, clear, over-exploitation of African natural resources has been crucial.

-Martin: Why has no twiter or facebook?
-Because I spend all my time to writing books. I do not rule out "tweeting" later.

In the Yukon I could not venture alone in a canoe, needed to go with experienced people. Otherwise, I would have drowned or had eaten a bear

-Angel Terrones: Last summer I was in Ethiopia. We did a cruise on Lake Tana, because several people had read and you'd fill us inspiration to do the same trip What you found in Africa that inspires you so much and have not come to see on other sites?
-I've already answered in another question: especially of sensuality. Africa is a treat for the senses. Or who knows if the six or seven, because I think we have more hidden meanings that the famous five.

-Monica: I do not understand why a lone traveler like you has decided to travel with both the Yukon and, now, to África. Do not detract from experiences? What adds?
-I think I've explained in two books. In the Yukon, I could not venture alone in a canoe, needed to go with experienced people. Otherwise, I would have drowned or had eaten a bear. But the rest of Alaska and Canada trip I did it alone. As for the book Africa, thought not to write: only intended to walk through Africa with a group of friends. But then you take notes, think of literature, recalls experiences, imagine… and finally.

-Amaia Iribarren: It has become in recent years in my favorite writer, especially since I stepped on African soil for the first time. I'm hooked on his writing because it makes me relive the good times and is very easy to read. A few days ago I read a newspaper on the launch of his new book that said: "Africa is tiring and tired, but it's like a bad woman whom you love but you have to go back to it ". That is her passion and makes us feel. In his books mentions women but… How long to get a book on African women?
-Travel and I write a book on African women is more a sociological topic. But in my books are African women, ¿no?. And thanks for all of your favorite author, my favorite reader.

I agree with marylo. This book, still good, does not have the fresh scent of adventure of the other three. Maybe because not travel alone and somehow conveys the sense of an organized trip like I could do any tourist. Notwithstanding this, I can not express my passion for literature Javier and recognize that their stories have traveled through the imagination as never done with any other author. Thanks Javier and still reveling in another fifty years at least.
