Rafael, one of the guards of the hotel, Sergeant former wartime, rests next to the water tank on the hill there Hotel. He sits, looking ahead, when the head of an enormous boa appears between their legs. A snake that is already part of the landscape of the hill, always lost in the bushes nearby and there recurrently about drinking. The guard is paralyzed, rises slowly with the body of the reptile moving close and starts running.

Sometimes you need a thousand words to say yes and sometimes with her head yes tells a thousand words

The story I have two other guards the night shift: Zechariah, a closet, and Bernardo, so closet as above but older and. The second I think is my favorite character of this I live Macondo. Go slow with his old straw hat for the day and his wooden stick and shelter for the night. I like to hear him explain things digressed pace, clarity of ideas which sometimes needs a thousand words to say yes and sometimes with her head yes tells a thousand words. I have not brought with him the issue never, Ana Paula but my friend told me that one night while telling by a fire that killed people in war tears fell from his eyes. He told me recently that he had in the Mozambican civil war lasts a machine gun.

The important thing is not the story I have jokingly, is his conclusion. Both at one point in the conversation explained that Rafael is a novice who does not know anything and do not know the method to paralyze boas. One already has some trained and knows that to such a statement comes a fascinating time. As is. Zechariah Bernard and I explained that snakes are paralyzed if you make a knot with a palm leaf, towards the boa and you order you to stay still. "That always works, everybody knows. The boa is paralyzed until you undo the knot ", Bernardo assures me that makes a knot with a palm leaf for us to see. There was no doubt in his voice, claimed it as stating that milk is white and leaves the cow. "You can stay there days, unable to move ", Zacharias said.

To begin to doubt that Muslims decide where it rains hippos tails waving his hands

Actually (look other post called the African Macondo) I already to begin to doubt that Muslims decide where it rains hippos tails waving his hands, red sand that is not very good in the soup and boas do not stop when you order with a knot on a sheet.

Story one more thing Bernardo. One day we were in a meeting with the guards to discuss hotel security at night. Ana Paula gave the floor to the Security Chief, our Bernardo, that begins to explain eternal rhetoric a story of the beginning of this lodge in which the bandits came at night and cut off both hands the guard to steal construction equipment. The story was hard, Bernardo told us that the guard without the two hands ran after the thief and caught. "He lost his hands for sleep as the villain does not warn. He fell asleep and when trying to defend both hands cut off, even reached the bandit (this word repeated a lot)”. I stood listening, thinking that he gave a talk to his young companions on the safety and work and responsibility, but one example where talking about everything at once. He told a story to his peculiar way and the next night we had to all guards making rounds and asking if they could buy catanas.

Buena historia, as always. A hug
