Among the impenetrable jungle gorillas

The last gorillas of land from the world living in a jungle, la de Bwindi, that knows no borders. Finding them can take hours, but the payoff is huge. For an hour, the visitor is immersed in the daily lives of these great primates that look silhouette of sumo wrestlers. An armed ranger with us to avoid surprises and, when you hear a silverback cut through the thick vegetation of a ravine in the direction where we, understand why. We are in Nkuringo, east of the Bwindi National Park, a Uganda, one of those magical places on the planet.

The real sources of the Nile at Ripon Falls (Uganda)

Ricardo Coarasa- Jinja (Uganda) The locals say this place as the exact point where the Nile begins its journey 6.500 km to its mouth in Egypt. When the browser Speke gave the mythical sources 1862, here were the Ripon Falls (flooded after dam construction). The gurgling river now in the same place, as if looking out the waterfalls would like timidly surface. The Nile is here an oasis of calm water that can be navigated by boat for a few dollars. The panorama is taken from the same island that Speke drew near Ripon Falls.

Face to face with the last gorillas

viajesalpasado.com Ricardo Coarasa. Bwindi (Uganda) In Uganda's Bwindi Park, one step away from the border with the Congo and Rwanda, the last surviving mountain gorillas on earth. This is one of the three silverbacks (silver back) Nkuringo group. With luck and skill of ranger, walk in a ravine when you can find them (although it is rare that the meeting be delayed three or four hours) . Hacked his way to intrude a few minutes to make their habitat, indifferent to her consent, is an unforgettable experience. The images speak for themselves. You stay out of breath a few meters of some primates as huge as they are limited to eating tender leaves. As if aliens we taken by surprise at Burger King ...
