It is incredible how to one of the parks most known the world s is a great unknown to many people in our day.
For me, it was until a few 3 years. © s after touring much of the natural parks of the United States and the Rockies Canadiensesâ € | Yellowstone was a pending item on my agenda todavÃa, handle-a good decade-a, Tena-I decided, that to go there-. And the truth is that I remember as a journey full of surprises and magic, maybe s for the atmosphere that reigned in the park at certain times of day due to its enormous geothermal activity.
The memory I have of Yellowstone is a sequence of images with surreal and colorful puffs of smoke floating through the trees ... but better I tell you how I know this wonder of nature.
The first image I have of the park is just something about his name. The Yellowstone River navigate through your giving us the plain step two impressive waterfalls that fall on a rocky valley in the middle of the day is a blinding yellow. This first image is just a taste of what we can find it. Along this valley can peek from different viewpoints to admire the beauty that offers so it is easy to see posted there many artists shaping the landscape as inspiring.
I remember it as a journey full of surprises and magic, maybe s for the atmosphere that reigned in the park at certain times of day due to its enormous geothermal activity.
But to feel the magic of this place is necessary to visit the park during the sunrises and / or evenings, since in the middle of the day there are too many tourists and few animals can be observed, except for the bison that appear to be eternally guarding Yellowstone. Besides the cold dawn vents are more visible and smoke emanating from a mystical images that we could not see at other times of the day. Also the atmosphere at that time is very gentle, and you feel how the animals are the true inhabitants of this place. You may find some bison that seems fuming because the ice floes that have formed overnight in their coats begin to melt. You can even see a Grizzly Bear foraging quiet under the stones and tell him to calm because I was lucky to meet you when you still had not left the sun and even though I was, not seem to feel threatened or uncomfortable with my presence, which helped me to enjoy watching and photographing the morning chores of this animal.
Perhaps one of the peculiarities of this park is, as I said before, geothermal activity is concentrated on it. Of all the phenomena of this kind in the world, half are here. One of the most famous images and that it is almost an icon of Yellowstone Grand Prismatic Spring is better known as The Eye of God. Many park visitors do not get to see him again from the perspective that enables them to your own height and yet this marvel to admire the best we can do is find a point of view zenith. The best would see from a helicopter but as this is not possible for most of those who visited the park, What I did was almost climbing up a nearby hill to see the rainbow that surrounds this spring-eye. But not only the Grand Prismatic is able to bewitch with its beauty and let us hypnotized, each source has its own color and streaks left by the overflowing water of the same form patterns that seem created by some mysterious mathematical formula.
You may find some bison that seems fuming because the ice floes that have formed overnight in their coats begin to melt.
Another geothermal activity that can leave you speechless in this park are the geysers. Some by their size and strength and others for their originality or are so unpredictable. This last was what happened with the Lion Geyser. While trying to understand how they had come to form a very original frets about one in residual puddles forming geysers, it erupted unexpectedly to all who passed through there at the time. I was backlit and the wind carried the water to one side creating a curtain of steam droplets million due to the glowing light of dusk. The image was created from nothing in just a few seconds did several people who were near could not contain their surprise and gasps of disbelief showed. That moment deserved to be portrayed and I did. Now that image is part of the decoration of my house and is among one of the best memories I have of all my travels.
But not everything is perfect in Yellowstone, the last day I witnessed one of the tragedies that occur often in it. By early morning I came across a van that had shattered the front by some stroke and a few meters ahead I saw a bison run over and killed on the road. That day really noticed a change in the attitude of the herds, until then the buffalo crossing the road to access their place of grass and ignored the hordes of tourists without, but that day several herds near the scene of outrage seemed occupied the road and refuse to move there and do not know if they will be imagining things but I promise I saw in some a sad and angry ...
