Un dia en el Kazinga Channel nublado

Near Lake Edward and the cross next to a big town. We hear chants and a crowd of people arranged as in a circle. The song is growing stronger as our barge moves. At this distance we can see that the people are dressed for the occasion without knowing what time it is.

The lakes of this country are special. They have the serene stamp of the Swiss lakes and in their stomach the wild roar of Africa. Like, I like to contemplate the living of their people who go out to fish in their canoes. See you rowing with your short blades and throwing your nets as many times as many times useful.

They have the serene stamp of the Swiss lakes and in their stomach the wild roar of Africa

Near Lake Edward and the cross next to a big town. We hear chants and a crowd of people arranged as in a circle. The song is growing stronger as our barge moves. At this distance it can already be perceived that people are dressed for the occasion without knowing what occasion it is. It looks like a religious melody as many times in this continent clinging to believing in impossible. "They are sacrificing a cow, It must be something important ", I. I imagine a death or a wedding. Who knows, Maybe it's nothing, One more day, But in Africa, nothing is routine and in the routine of this place something as valuable as a cow is not sacrificed.

Around us we see fishing boats that leave the town with the right time to return before the last breath of the sun. We are close to the Great Lake when I observe the left that in a corner there are hundreds of birds. Everyone shares a piece of earth, Almost a projection. There are all kinds of species, For something they dwell in this country more than 1000 different types of birds, half of all in Africa.

They threate strongly, until the calm of those waters with their torments

They threate strongly, until the calm of those waters with their torments. Frankly had never contemplated so many different birds together. I like their red peaks, yellow, oranges ... I observe the arrangement of the pelicans, The precise walk of the herons and the constant flutter of the smallest birds. It's cloudy. A hippopotamo gets the head out of the water and its rumble. The stamp is quiet. Calm.

Everything seems beautiful to me, Maybe today knows even more value it. Simply passed to write this post that looking for some photos I stumbled upon these 2010 And I remembered that wonderful afternoon when nothing special happened while sailing for the Kazinga Channel. I think that's why I haven't been able to leave Africa yet, for afternoons like this in which "nothing special happened" happened ".

PD. On the way back I could see the picture of one of the mythical lions living in the trees. Another of those routines of the cloudy days of that place.
